Revolut has revamped its offer for young users: In addition to the name change from Revolut Junior to Revolut <18, the appearance has also received a fresh coat of paint in yellow. The offer is still aimed at users between the ages of 6 and 17. During the redesign, the product was also equipped with new functions. And figures were given: around 60,000 of the 1.6 million new users are based in the DACH region. The new coat of paint should look a little more "adult" here and give the target group their space with more customization options.
On the one hand, P2P payments, i.e. user-to-user payments, would be new. Sending and receiving is now done in seconds directly in the app – as usual with Revolut with the personal touch of a message or GIF.
Keyword personalization: Revolut also offers a Revolut feature for adults: personalized cards. Debit cards can be individualized with images, text and emojis as well as freehand sketches. The design process is possible directly in the app.
Otherwise, there is something familiar from “Revolut Junior”. The account is free and can be activated through the parent or guardian app. This way, parents always have an overview of the children’s expenses. Children over the age of 16 can also self-register with appropriate consent. Revolut <18 includes a virtual debit card, with the option to order a physical card for free. This can also be integrated with Google and Apple Pay (we reported).
When it comes to P2P payments, as revealed in October’s new Terms of Service, there’s also something going on for adults. There you add new features to Revolut.me. Payments can then be sent and received via Revolut.me links. The link remains unchanged and can be used permanently to receive payments (almost as we know it from PayPal). The option to send card transfer payments will then also be added to the payment links – in addition to being able to access the Revolut account, users without Revolut can also transfer from their own bank account.
