Last season starts next week and it’s coming

The Caldera map is flattened by a volcano.

This year, once again, one Call of Duty era is ending while the next one begins seamlessly. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28, 2022 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is rumored to follow soon after on November 16, 2022.

In order to say goodbye to the two current titles Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision is launching a very last season. This brings a lot of content, which should further increase the fun of the game shortly before the generation change and bring a worthy ending with it.

Call of Duty begins the final season

In a cinematic trailer, those responsible are already revealing what awaits you in the final season “Last Stand”. The focal point of the action will be a large volcanic eruption that will alter the Caldera map:

When does the last season start? The start of the season is August 24, 2022. The related update can be downloaded for Call of Duty: Vanguard on August 23 at 6:00 p.m. GMT. For Call of Duty: Warzone, the download will not start until August 24 at 6:00 p.m. German time.

What’s new? The latest season features new free content for Warzone and Vanguard. The Caldera map in Warzone becomes an apocalyptic scene, as the island’s volcano has erupted and lava is flowing through the area in many places. The Gulag also adapts visually to the natural disaster.

In addition to the new items, there will be a time-limited mode that the new update revolves around. In “Operation: Last Call” you must choose one of two sides and fight for the fate of the island either as a villain or as a hero. The mode is inspired by the “Search and Destroy” mode, where you have to destroy (or defuse) bombs. Depending on which team wins the match, there are two different outcomes.

This content will come with the final season of Call of Duty.
