Valve is planning other generations of Steam Deck

With the Steam Deck, Valve has released something of a PC and handheld hybrid. The device has found its fans, although it’s unclear how often the good bit sold. Valve apparently wants to stick with its plans to release more generations. In any case, it is clearly referred to in a booklet.

According to the provider, even improved hardware and software should appear. The Steam Deck is referred to as a “multi-generational product line”. So far, Valve has made such promises in the past, but hasn’t necessarily delivered on them. For example, there was a lot of percussion for its steam engines, which came to the market in cooperation with partners from 2015, but were quickly ignored. The Steam Controller was then dropped like a hot potato.

Unfortunately, there is also less good news in the background. Valve quietly downgraded SSDs from Steam decks. This affects models with 256 and 512 GB. If they previously used SSDs with PCIe 3.0 x4, they are now only PCIe x2. In practice, fortunately, you shouldn’t usually notice anything.
