According to Leak, the next Assassin’s Creed is called Mirage and will be more like the first installment

On September 10, the Ubisoft Forward will take place, where there will finally be news of Assassin’s Creed. This is absolutely necessary given the heap of rumors and leaks. Infinity, Project Red, Nexus, Rift, a mobile game… some clarity would be nice here.

After all, the veil around Assassin’s Creed Rift now seems somewhat lifted, if not by Ubisoft, but by two well-connected insiders. After famed Assassin’s Creed YouTuber j0nathan spoke about the series in a new French language video, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier also weighed in. However, he straightened out j0nathan’s statements a bit. He did not confirm all his statements, but a new and important information: the final name of Assassin’s Creed Rift.

Assassin’s Creed Rift becomes Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Rift was originally planned as a Valhalla DLC starring Basim, but was later repurposed into a smaller, standalone title. Or so the rumors said, as Ubisoft is still mum on Rift. Or should we say Mirage? Because after j0onathan named Assassin’s Creed Mirage as the game’s final title, Schreier confirmed it through his source.

Schreier also confirms the following long-talked about Assassin’s Creed Rift, sorry, Mirage information from j0nathan:

• Released in spring 2023 (but he hasn’t confirmed if it’s really between April and June)
• the action takes place in Baghdad (probably between 870 and 860)
• the game is based on the fundamentals of the first games, in particular Assassin’s Creed 1: more stealth, no RPG elements like a level system and dialogue choices

However, Schreier only partially agrees with j0nathan. If the Bloomberg reporter is successful, we won’t be able to explore multiple cities, for example. However, his tweet doesn’t make it very clear which items on the list he still counts among “the other parts” that he doesn’t think are correct. For example, j0nathan talks about a remake of the first part that will be included in a season pass.
