Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro show off in unofficial hands-on video

Google Pixel 7 and 7a smartphones are said to support Bluetooth LE Audio in “premium quality”. But what exactly this means is unclear. LE Audio gets improvements like the LC3 codec, but also Auracast Broadcast Audio. Apparently, however, Google wants to go beyond what Android 13 offers ex factory for its own smartphones.

9to5Google colleagues spotted a discussion between two Google developers in the Android Open Source Project, but not everyone can see it. However, no further details were disclosed. Expanded or improved Bluetooth LE audio support may be tied to the next generation Tensor SoC. Google will surely reveal more about this.
