WiFiMan is an application from Ubiquiti. This is used to analyze WLAN networks and determine their speeds. This is an exciting measurement tool, especially in combination with UniFi hardware. Since this year, a signal mapping tool has also been integrated, which shows its full potential thanks to lidar in an iPhone. With Teleport, a Wireguard-based VPN is now part of the app’s repertoire. Now the suitable hardware for the app with the WiFiMan assistant follows – at least in the early access phase.
The WiFiMan Assistant is a battery-powered spectrum analyzer. This is paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth. The Wizard can be carried either via MagSafe or via a metal ring. In conjunction with the WiFi Man app, it should then scan the 2.4 and 5 GHz band. This should allow analyzes on the basis of which a new Wi-Fi network can be set up.
The built-in rechargeable battery is enough for four hours of continuous scanning. Then the device is charged via USB-C. The costs for the early access phase are around 115 euros. It can be assumed that the price will be slightly higher for regular availability.
