Apple’s iPhone 14, four models in number, has been available for pre-order since the end of last week – not only from Apple itself, but also from network operators. Some of the prizes failed and also met with a mixed response from you in the comments. Market researcher Ming-Chi Kuo has now looked at early pre-order data. According to him, there are clearly winners and losers.
As a result, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus have so far been less popular than the Pro models. This is also reflected in the fact that the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus can ship on launch day, but the Pro models have delivery times of up to four weeks. Although you should be careful with this as long as you don’t know the order quantities from Apple. In any case, Kuo claims that so far the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus have been pre-ordered in smaller quantities than, for example, the iPhone 3 (3rd generation) and iPhone 13 mini. The iPhone 14 Plus in particular would not live up to expectations.
Kuo expects Apple to reduce its November 2022 shipment volumes for the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. It’s different with the iPhone 14 Pro, for which we can assume a sustained and strong demand. Ultimately, however, you should continue to monitor the situation after the sales start. So far, it seems that Apple’s product mix for 2022 does not fully meet the expectations of the manufacturer itself, investors and customers.
