Update for Auro-3D AuroMatic, ALLM and VRR

Yamaha is arming its AV receivers for the current generation of game consoles with a firmware update. While previous updates already supported 8K60, 4K120 and HDR10+, several models now support Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) after another update (v17. 3). Owners of the top Aventage models can take advantage of the new HDMI functions. With firmware 1.58, both functions can also be used with the RX-A2A, RX-V6A, RX-V4A, TSR-700 and TSR-400. We informed you a few weeks ago that some of the listed models have updated HDMI 2.1 functions.

Another innovation is the so-called cross-upmixing. The Auromatic of the RX-A8A and RX-A6A can now also be used with native soundtracks in DTS:X and Dolby Atmos format, with access to pitch information – this also applies to Yamaha DSP and Surround:AI programs . Thanks to Surround:AI, Yamaha DSP, Dolby Surround, DTS Neural:X and AuroMatic, everyone should find something to their personal taste in the field of 3D sound.

Firmware version 1.73 brings the upmixer of DTS to the RX-A8A, RX-A6A and RX-A4A. Additional treble sounds from Dolby are added to the multi-channel sound. Conversely, audio tracks from DTS, such as DTS-HD, can also be extended to include pitch information using the Dolby Up mixer.
