New Games of the Week brings the reboot of an open-world action series

This week there are still very different games.

The new week from September 19 to 25 does not have big blockbusters in its luggage, but it does have a nice program of releases with very different titles: from the return of a classic to simulations, passing through action games to frantic pace. So you can keep tabs on everything, here’s our GamePro list with the most important new games.

Return to Monkey Island returns and hijacks the Nintendo Switch

  • Release: September 19
  • Platform: PC, switch
  • Gender: Point and click

Who says point and click adventure must also say Monkey Island. This is especially true now that what is probably the most legendary series of its kind continues after 22 years. Series creator Ron Gilbert is back on board for Return to Monkey Island and ties directly into the first two games; i.e. the ones he was working on at the time.

The new title will be a sequel to 1991’s Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge. The Caribbean adventures are characterized by their unique humor, eccentric main character Guybrush, and creative puzzles.

Soulstice - Rocky's Trailer For The Action Game Makes You Want To Release It

Soulstice – Rocky’s Trailer For The Action Game Makes You Want To Release It

  • Release: September 20
  • Platform: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
  • Gender: Shares

The title of this game, with the word “Action”, would lead us to assume that it is another Soulslike, but this conclusion is misleading. Soulstice is an action game more reminiscent of Devil May Cry or Bayonetta and has little to do with the Dark Souls series, apart from the setting.

Soulstice takes place in a dark medieval fantasy world in which we have to fight evil monsters in fast-paced battles. We cover sibling duo Briar and Lute, reborn as “Chimera”. They are hybrid warriors born from the union of two souls.

The games you can download and play on the different services change every month, so check the digital stores regularly. Or on GamePro.de, because that’s where you’ll find updates for new games as soon as they’re announced.
