Nintendo Switch, Windows PC and Mac users will soon have the opportunity to purchase Return to Monkey Island, as today the long-awaited game was released. Older gamers will certainly be familiar with Monkey Island, one of the milestones in the history of computer games created by Ron Gilbert, Dave Grossman and their team. Return to Monkey Island is the sequel to Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge from Ron Gilbert’s Terrible Toybox in association with Devolver Digital and Lucasfilm Games. It’s been years since Guybrush Threepwood engaged in a mental contest with his nemesis, zombie pirate LeChuck. His true love, Elaine Marley, has turned away from her job as governor, and Guybrush himself is unhappy that he never found Monkey Island’s treasure. Young pirate leaders under Captain Madison have seized power from the old guard, much has changed on Mêlée Island for the worse, and famous businessman Stan is imprisoned for “crimes related to marketing”.

Fight with old friends and new faces on newly managed familiar islands. Then venture out onto the high seas, explore unknown places and skilfully get out of sticky situations. Only ingenious puzzles, grotesque situations and quick answers separate Guybrush from stardom.

Intrepid Pirates brings classic point-and-click puzzle solving and island exploration gameplay up to date with a clever evolution of adventure controls. Contextual interactions, dynamic dialogue trees, and an easy-to-use inventory system make life as a pirate pleasantly comfortable.

Journey to the sometimes welcoming Isle of Mêlée, a familiar place where new rulers press on old friends and new faces. Venture into uncharted territory like the aptly named Terror Island and the icy outposts of Brrr Muda to find both allies and foes.
