GTA 6 has leaked, but the graphics are (obviously) not representative of the final product.
Perhaps the biggest leak in gaming history happened over the weekend: a hacker posted 90 GTA 6 videos on the GTA Forum. Meanwhile, well-known Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier even confirmed that the clips are indeed from the upcoming Rockstar game.
There are currently a number of voices over the graph of leaked material on the internet. Many gamers are only unenthusiastic about the look of the action game and partially participate memesfunny about it.
But all worries and concerns about graphics and technology are unfoundedas these are images of a very early version of the upcoming action game.
The final version of GTA 6 will be completely different from the leaked version
Emphasis on “old”: Jason Schreier has since confirmed that the leaked clips were actually from a old version comes from GTA 6. We don’t know the real age of the construction yet. Tom Henderson, another well-known insider, writes that construction is over a year old:

The number of people saying that GTA 6 looks horrible is terrifying. Are you considering a version of a game that is over a year old and will be released in, say, two years?
Or in other words: Of course, the final version of GTA 6 will end up looking completely different from the leaked gameplay clips. The game is still in development. And as a rule, the final graphics are only implemented in the later stages of the development phase.
The Progameguides site uses a nice metaphor for this: think of game development as a human body. Yes really! The source code forms the skeleton. In turn, the AI, physics, game mechanics, story, etc., serve as the organs and muscles that bring the game to life. And the graphics? It forms the skin, so to speak, of what we see from the outside. And this skin only grows when the inner workings are complete and functioning properly.
Game developers often use placeholders for character models or environments because they first need to test whether game mechanics, physics effects, etc. are functioning correctly. So it’s only to be expected that the graphics in GTA 6 videos are so sparse and lacking in detail. Final details and textures for characters and environments or appropriate light and shadow effects are usually added much later.
For comparison, here is an image of a previous version of the Sea of Thieves game.in which tic tac-like creatures serve as substitutes for the final character models:

Of course, we don’t yet know what GTA 6 will look like in the end or even if it will graphically surpass GTA 5. The thing is, Rockstar’s next action game certainly won’t look like the images recently released by the hacker.
GTA 6 Release Still Unclear
We are still awaiting official information on the next version of the GTA series. So far Rockstar has only announced that GTA 6 is in development and much of the development studio is now busy working on it.
According to the latest Bloomberg report, it will be some time before GTA 6 is released. Apparently, we have to wait at least two more years.
So we won’t see the long-awaited open-world action game until 2024..
