Update brings improvements for Windows and macOS

Dropbox developers have released a new version for macOS and Windows users. The stable version 157.4.4801 brings welcome innovations.

New placeholders are no longer marked with an inline-only tag in the macOS Finder. This does not affect the online status of the file, according to the developers. So far there have been some issues with Dropbox in conjunction with the current macOS. This means that it should now be possible to save local storage space by using File On-Demand features (this feature is only available to users on Dropbox Plus, Family, Professional, and Business plans ).

Dropbox for Mac’s File On-Demand feature was already available for OS X 10.10 Yosemite or later, but in “macOS 12.3 Monterey” apps no longer have direct access to their kernel extensions for security reasons .

Windows users are also getting a new version, introducing a feature that allows users to back up computer folders to Dropbox and OneDrive simultaneously on Windows.
