Can be used with iOS 16.1 and tvOS 16.1 without Apple Watch

Apple Fitness+ for all iPhone users starting in the fall (Apple Watch not required)

It’s been clear for some time that Apple will make Fitness+ usable without an Apple Watch this fall. Until now, however, it was not known exactly when that would be, Apple was only talking about the fall of this year.

In the second beta version of iOS 16.1, it is possible to subscribe to the service without the smartwatch. The same goes for tvOS 16.1, the Apple TV also lets you pair the iPhone with it during a workout.

We still don’t know exactly when iOS 16.1 will be released, but since we are currently on the second beta, it will probably take until late October / early November. Assuming Apple can introduce new iPads in October, the release date of iOS 16.1, iPadOS 16.1 and other operating systems might match.
