Unholy – New Horror Game Trailer Announces PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Versions

masks that grant skills; and interact with the environment through anger, fear, sadness and desire – The upcoming horror game Unholy brings with it some gameplay ideas that sound really exciting. We’ll tell you what we know so far about the game, which is slated for release in 2023.

Scary game with powerful emotions

Everything revolves around this: In this psychological horror game, we search for our child while wandering through two parallel realities: the everyday world of a post-Soviet town in Eastern Europe and the dark world of Unholy, where priests rule. on the strange population.

Shoot and camouflage with masks: The title is one of those representatives of the genre against which we can defend ourselves if we want to. We can either shoot the enemies, but we can also sneak up on them or infiltrate them. Masks play an important role in this because everyone wears them – and it helps us imitate and deceive enemies.

In Unholy, we enter a strange parallel world.

But masks can do even more: We must build our own mask in the Unholy. This then brings us new skills and can strengthen our capacities.

Interact using emotions: As is often the case in horror games, we not only have to deal with villainous threats, but also explore and meticulously solve puzzles along the way. Unholy also brings a new idea to this aspect. We are meant to use the emotions of anger, fear, sadness, and desire to interact with the environment. For example, we have to destroy obstacles and trigger mechanisms.

Godless must next year for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC appear.

What we’ve heard about Unholy so far sounds really good to me. While many horror games rely on old, tried-and-true mechanics, such as survival horror Resi, this title brings some new ideas that at least sound really exciting on paper.

I’m not exactly the most patient player, but I’m excited to see the stealth and subterfuge possibilities the masks provide – and if it’s too slow for me, I can always explode.

I’m also curious about how emotions work. But we haven’t learned much about it – just like the masks. So of course it can also backfire and the mechanics aren’t as fun as I hope. But I will definitely be keeping an eye on Unholy and looking forward to the game so far.
