The new PS4 update improves the... guess what?

The next PS4 update is already here.

It’s only been two weeks since the PlayStation 4 received an update to version 10.0, and the next system software update is already live. Unlike the previous patch, the update to issue 10.01 does not contain any innovations, only a well-known note appears in the change notes.

Almost every PS4 fan should be able to recite the main feature of the latest update while they sleep:

“This system software update improves system performance.”

However, this does not mean the actual performance of the PS4, but the elimination of minor bugs and errors. The PS4 should therefore work more stable in isolated cases and be less prone to software problems. In addition, security holes are regularly closed so that the console cannot be hacked by hackers and used in online mode.

Known issues and how to fix them

As with the previous update, users report that problems with external data carriers have occurred after updating to version 10.01. Apparently, USB HDDs and SSDs are not recognized or are only recognized late.

You should always disconnect the external storage media from the console during the update to avoid possible errors during the update. In most cases, however, it is sufficient to unplug the USB cable from the external storage device after the update, restart the console, and reconnect the storage device.
