WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.22.21.6: preparations for the tablet version

WhatsApp is available in the new beta version 2.22.21.6 for Android. According to WABetaInfo, the use on tablets is in preparation. However, it is unknown if some beta users already have access to the feature or if development is still ongoing. In any case, there are new indications of “companion mode” on the tablets.

In any case, it should be possible to connect a tablet via the device link. As usual, it works by scanning a QR code. After a one-time link, in which smartphone and tablet must be online, WhatsApp can then also be used on the tablet independently of the phone. The latter may therefore be offline.

As I said, WABetaInfo’s description of this feature is still a bit unclear, on the one hand it is said to be in an early development phase, on the other hand it is assumed that selected beta users would benefit from it. In any case, anyone wishing to use WhatsApp on their tablet will have a silver lining.
