Cyberpunk, The Witcher and a whole new IP – CD Projekt Red is working on all kinds of projects.
CD Projekt Red has in a new Call for investors all kinds of upcoming projects announced. It wasn’t just about the future of the Cyberpunk and The Witcher franchises, but also a whole new IP. We have summarized all announcements here for you as an overview.
New The Witcher Trilogy
A new The Witcher saga had already been announced, but not much was known until now. Only a lynx medallion teases the fourth The Witcher so far. CD Projekt Red has now officially confirmed that it should be a trilogy again. In total we can still count on three games.
The game is currently in pre-production with over 150 developers involved in the project. There’s no release date yet, but at least the second and third installments of the trilogy should appear within six years of the opening game’s release.
We have collected all previous information and rumors about the fourth The Witcher for you here:

The recently announced The Witcher game is being developed by Molasses Flood with support from CD Projekt Red. The title should include a single-player experience with campaign, story and quests, but also have multiplayer gameplay. It is described as an “innovative take on the Witcher universe”. The game is currently in pre-production.
Game Witcher: Project Canis Majoris

The newly announced game will be developed by a third-party studio led by former The Witcher creators. It is a story-driven single-player RPG with an open world. The Canis Majoris project is developed in Unreal Engine 5.
The Witcher 3 Next Generation
There was also a small update to The Witcher 3 version for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. We still don’t have a release date, but at least CD Projekt Red has said the release is still slated for this year.
The sequel to Cyberpunk 2077
The game, which is currently called “Project Orion”, will be a direct sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. The title will be developed in-house by CD Projekt Red. We don’t know much more yet, only that the sequel wants to exploit the potential of the cyberpunk universe. Since the current status is still listed as “in development”, the game is likely still before the pre-production stage.
Before the sequel appears, there is still the story DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. You can watch the trailer here:

New IP: Hadar Project
A brand new brand named “Hadar” was also recently announced and will be developed by CD Project Red. The project is currently still in the design phase and is not yet actively developed. The goal of the creators is to create a completely new universe from scratch.

CD Projekt RED is currently working on this
multiplayer future
Project Sirius is the first main game (apart from Gwent) from a CD Projekt Red IP to be announced with multiplayer elements. However, this should not be the last. CD Projekt plans to implement multiplayer in most of its titles in the future.
The goal should be “to enrich the single player experience”. It’s no surprise, after all, the developer had already announced that future Cyberpunk and The Witcher games should contain multiplayer elements. However, the focus should obviously continue to be on the single player mode, we probably shouldn’t expect a pure multiplayer game in the near future.
Which of the announcements are you most looking forward to?
