Arsenal and Liverpool are squaring off over a player dubbed ‘the next Erling Haaland’.
Haaland has lit up the Premier League since joining Manchester City, scoring 14 goals in his first eight appearances and already breaking records. Now it looks like the heir to his throne is in high demand from City’s rivals.
The Gunners and Reds – who play at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday – have plenty of attacking options. But a starlet who has been making waves in Europe is being watched by both clubs with an eye to the future.
According Calcio Mercato (opens in a new tab)both Premier League giants are interested in Norwegian wonderkid Andreas Schjelderup.
The young Nordsjaelland striker is currently valued at around £17.5million. Apparently, Sevilla have already had a £3.5million bid rejected for the teenager’s services.
Schjelderup has scored five times in his first 10 appearances this season, despite still being just 18 years old. He moved to Nordsjaelland in Denmark from Bodo/Glimt two years ago.
With the youngster’s contract ending in 2024, it’s possible that no buying club will have to meet the Danish side’s asking price.
As well as being able to attack, Schjelderup can play on the left wing which would suit both Liverpool and Arsenal.
The teenager is valued at less than £4million per Transfer market (opens in a new tab).

While Bayern won’t challenge Liverpool for the signing of Jude Bellingham, they may have to fend off advances from the Reds themselves: Jamal Musiala has been linked with a move to Anfield. Meanwhile, the Reds have reportedly made Inter Milan and Croatian Marcelo Brozovic prime targets.
Liverpool have also been linked with a rising Ligue 1 striker dubbed ‘the Ghanian Mane’ in recent days, and could battle with Chelsea for the signing of one of MLS’ most exciting talents.
