Dell Introduces New Latitude 7230 Rugged Extreme Tablet

The Dell Latitude 7230 Rugged Extreme is the latest high-end tablet from Dell Technologies and would be particularly suitable for use in extreme environments. According to the manufacturer, this is not only the lightest, but also currently the most powerful 12-inch rugged tablet on the market – note the “rugged” addition. The tablet had to prove its robustness in drop and temperature tests. The battery should provide up to 20 hours of battery life, but a hot-swap feature with two batteries allows continuous use of the device. The weight of the tablet is 1.3 kg.

In terms of hardware, the device relies on a 12th Gen Intel Core processor (up to Intel Core i7) with integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics and up to 32GB of memory. This is also optionally available as removable SSD storage. On request, the tablet is also available with a contact or contactless smart card reader. The 16:10 display offers up to 1,200 nits of brightness and should also be usable with gloves on. WiFi-6E, WWAN and GPS modules provide connectivity on the go. They also want to offer data security here and rely on the Dell TPM 2.0 ControlVault hardware security solution. You can also use Windows Hello facial recognition with the built-in IR camera, and there’s an optional touchscreen fingerprint scanner.

There should also be no problem with the accessories of the device. Including:

• a removable keyboard
• a stylus
• a rotating wrist strap and a shoulder strap made of durable and washable material
• a magnetic mount that allows users to attach the tablet to any metal surface
• a stable handle that facilitates the transport of the device and allows the user to be individually aligned
• an optional configurable barcode reader in the tablet.

Dell currently announces the fourth quarter of this year as the release period, but unfortunately the price will not be announced before the market launch.
