Attention sci-fi fans: Sky and HBO co-production ‘Avenue 5’ will debut on 20 December 2022 in season 2 with a total of eight episodes every Tuesday from 8.15pm in double episodes on Sky Comedy, also on Sky Q and the WOW streaming service. The individual episodes are each 30 minutes long, so you can definitely “annoy” them too. Hugh Laurie (“Dr. House”) will once again star in the comedy series.

In the not too distant future: space tourism is a booming business. Captain Ryan Clark (Hugh Laurie), commanding Herman Judd’s (Josh Gad) luxury Avenue 5 spaceship, ran into trouble when the ship catastrophically veered off course, turning an eight-week cruise into an eight-week voyage year. Set five months after the failed hijacking of the ship, season two follows the crew – including feisty engineer Billie (Lenora Crichlow), unpredictable customer service manager Matt (Zach Woods) and trusty right-hand Iris (Suzy Nakamura) – in their struggle to guide, calm, control and, if necessary, hide from the increasingly unruly passengers. They are hailed as heroes on Earth and in space, everyone can hear them scream. From Washington to Space: After comedy mastermind Armando Iannucci poked fun at the political circus with the award-winning comedy series ‘Veep – The Vice President’, he’s now tackling space tourism of the future for the second time – with his usual dark humor and satire.
