Forza Horizon 5 remains one of the best racing games you can play on Xbox or PC. And the open world title is packed with content, but you’ve seen them all at some point. It’s no wonder, then, that developer Playground Games has already released a major expansion this year with Hot Wheels.

But that’s not the end of Forza Horizon 5 – if you can even say that for a title with such extensive multiplayer. As we now know, the studio is currently working on a second major expansion. At least that’s what Playground Games confirmed to Xbox insider “Klobrille” on Twitter.

Information and release of the extension in 2023

The release of the expansion should therefore take place at the beginning of 2023, after the start of the year we can also expect further information on the great DLC.

So: There are no concrete details regarding the setting or any content so far. At the moment, we can only speculate if the upcoming expansion will be overdone like the Hot Wheels DLC or if it will match the tone of the base game.

What could the new DLC offer?

In any case, there is already a lot of speculation in the comments under the tweet, there are suggestions like underwater races, a new city or Japan as a setting. Playground should probably reserve the latter for a new part of the racing game series.

Whatever it ends up being: For all Forza Horizon fans, the confirmation of a new expansion should be great news. Because the previous DLCs in the series have never disappointed, even if the quality has fluctuated a bit here and there.
