Telegram has new features. The latest update adds topics to organize discussions in large groups. There is also an option to convert video messages to text. Please note: Converting video messages to text is a premium feature – and premium is not available in Germany.

According to the developers, topics function as individual chats within the group, with their own shared media and notification settings. Members can discuss any topic using their favorite features like polls, pinned posts, and bots.

This feature is specially designed for large groups and offers new ways to personalize their chats and keep chats organized. Later this year, we will introduce tools suitable for small groups. If users want to test the themes, they can try them out in this public group.

Premium users will find, see the screenshot above this paragraph, the above mentioned feature to convert video messages to text. If you click on the letter to the right of the video, you will get a transcribed version. Premium users now also receive 10 new emoji packs.

Also, there is usually a better night mode in iOS. According to the developers, dark color themes have been updated for iOS users, giving more balanced colors and better blurring effects when swiping in chats and the chat list. Finally, you can change the text size on Android. Changing text size in Android app chat settings will enlarge all chat text including link preview, reply header, etc.
