According to the New York Times, Amazon plans to lay off around 10,000 employees in the corporate and technology sectors. These would be the biggest job cuts in the company’s history – and it’s expected to start as early as this week. The cuts will focus on Amazon’s device organization, including its voice assistant Alexa, as well as its retail division and human resources division, the New York Times sources said. Amazon isn’t the only company laying off employees as the deteriorating global economy puts pressure on businesses — and growth won’t stop forever.
