Firefox 107.0 and Thunderbird 102.5.0 released

Users of the Firefox browser and/or the Thunderbird email program now get “dual functionality” regarding the update. Firefox is now available in version 107.0, while Thunderbird has been upgraded to version 102.5.0.

What’s new in Firefox: Performance improvements when Microsoft IME and Defender retrieve a targeted document URL in Windows 11 version 22H2. Likewise, power profiling – the visualization of performance data recorded by web browsers – is now also supported on Linux and Mac with Intel processors, in addition to Windows 11 and Apple Silicon. Critical security vulnerabilities have also been closed.

Things are a bit different with Thunderbird, mainly tweaks have been made and bugs have been fixed:

Account Settings UI has not been updated to reflect changes to Default Identity

New POP mail notifications were displayed incorrectly for messages marked as read or junk by filters

Thunderbird crashed while connecting to an IMAP server configured to use PREAUTH

Bad responses from NNTP servers received in the greeting message header did not show an error message

Messages sent with “send later” were not sent after coming back online

FIXED
“Download/Sync now…” did not fully sync all chatgroups before disconnecting

FIXED
If the connection to the news server failed, the username was missing in the error dialog

FIXED
Thunderbird can now fetch RSS feeds from channels with incomplete channel URLs

FIXED
Add-on “Contribute” button in Add-ons Manager not working

FIXED
/part matrix command help text was incorrect

FIXED
The Invite Attendee dialog did not retrieve free/busy information for attendees with encoded characters in their names
