Safari Technology Preview: Version 154 Released

Since 2016, it is possible to install a beta on Mac in addition to the final version of Safari. Apple calls it “Safari Technology Preview” and recently released a new version. The release is number 158 and brings features from macOS Ventura, released a few weeks ago.

This includes things like Live Text for images on the web (Ventura with Apple chip required), new web technologies, web push, support for authentication keys introduced by Apple at WWDC, extensions improved websites, etc. As usual, shared tab groups, sync tab groups, website settings, and web extensions are not enabled in this release.

The update is available through the Software Update feature in System Settings. If you haven’t installed the preview yet but want to try it out, you can get the Monterey or Ventura version from the Apple Developer website. macOS Big Sur is not supported. As already mentioned, parallel use with the final version of Safari is possible.
