Additional billions for expansion

A further billion from the special “Digital Infrastructure” fund is to be allocated to the expansion of gigabit networks in Germany. As known, it still looks poor in some parts, especially in the countryside. The billion should therefore migrate to accompany the expansion of the next budget years and increase the budget from 3.18 billion euros to 4.18 billion euros.

The reason given by the German Bundestag is the high demand for gigabit funding. The increasing spread of fiber optics should also play a role here. Commitment authorization deadlines have also been adjusted to reflect project progress and the release of funds, according to a brief recent memo on the subject.

No other changes were made to the economic plan.
