France bans the use of free offers in schools

The free edu licenses of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace have been banned from use in schools by the French Ministry of Education because they would violate applicable EU law. And it is precisely at this point that this regulation would also affect us. Instead, collaborative suites should be used that not only originate in the EU, but also process and store the processed data within the EU instead of sending it to Microsoft in the US. In this country, too, there are such considerations. For example, Microsoft 365 is to be removed from schools in Baden-Württemberg and replaced for data protection reasons.
