One of the first smartphones with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

vivo has established itself as one of the first smartphone manufacturers and has presented its first smartphone with the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2: the vivo X90 Pro+. This mobile device has even more tricks up its sleeve, as it uses the new 1-inch Sony IMX989 camera sensor. This should translate to excellent low-light performance.

Additionally, they cooperated with the German supplier Zeiss for the 50 MP wide-angle camera. You’re using an aperture of f/1.75 and want to score with a coating that reduces flare. In addition, there are also two telephoto lenses on board. One is a 64-megapixel periscope specimen with 3.5x optical zoom. The second can still double the optical zoom and has 50 megapixels. All three cameras mentioned offer OIS. The fourth camera, on the other hand, stands up to ultra-wide-angle shots and offers 48 MP.

It’s worth mentioning that the vivo X90 Pro+ can record 8K video – but only at 30fps. RAW videos with 14 bits are also possible. Dolby Vision and some LOG formats can also be used. Incidentally, the vivo X90 Pro+ uses a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Other specifications include 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of storage space (UFS 4.0).

The vivo X90 Pro+ uses a 6.78-inch display with 3200 x 1440 pixels. It’s a Samsung E6-series LTPO-4 AMOLED panel with 10-bit color and 120Hz refresh rate and 1440Hz PWM dimming. supports Dolby Vision. The new smartphone is commercially available in red and black. Both use a kind of leather texture for the surfaces. In addition, the vivo X90 Pro+ is dust and water resistant according to IP68.

You have to live with the rather high weight of 221 g and the thickness of 9.7 mm. The battery has a capacity of 4,700 mAh and can be charged with a cable at 80 watts and wirelessly at 50 watts. The device offers stereo speakers and supports Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C (3.2 Gen 1) and Wi-Fi 6, among others. The vivo X90 Pro+ will be available alongside its two siblings, the vivo X90 and the vivo X90 Pro, on December 6, 2022. Pre-orders open in China from November 28, 2022. Incidentally, OriginOS 3 serves as the operating system there.

In China, the vivo X90 Pro+ costs 890 euros for the version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of capacity. Anyone who upgrades to 512 GB pays the equivalent of around 954 euros. International release information is still lacking.
