The travel association Pro Bahn expects that we will have to wait a little longer than we had hoped for the 49 euro ticket – until April 2023. You are not alone, because the parties of Opposition CDU and CSU also see ambiguity as to the exact start date. Unfortunately, March 1, 2023 is considered unrealistic.

Next week there will be a special meeting of the transport ministers of the Länder with Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing (FDP). The CDU complains that there is currently a strong discrepancy between dream and reality. On the one hand, the Federal Ministry of Transport wants an introduction on January 1, 2023, on the other hand, there are already statements from our own ranks that point to March 1, 2023 as the first departure.

Here, the opposition of the traffic light government once again assumes a mess, it seems. The €49 note is also considered underfunded and issues and discussions between the federal government and state governments still arise.
