Honor today not only presented its new MagicOS 7.0 interface, but also the Foldable Magic Vs. However, the Honor 80 series is also added to it. This series of smartphones includes three models: Honor 80, Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80 SE.
There are some differences between the models. Let’s start with the Honor 80 Pro, which is of course the highest quality of the three devices. The SoC used here is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is supported by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of storage space. The 10-bit OLED display of the device has a resolution of 2,700 x 1,224 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The selfie camera impresses here with 50 megapixels and an additional 2-megapixel depth sensor.
It’s worth mentioning that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 clocks its cores a bit lower than usual – 3 instead of 3.2 GHz for the main core and 2.5 instead of 2.75 GHz for the cores performance. As for the main camera, the Honor 80 Pro uses a 160-megapixel wide-angle lens, paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. There is also a depth sensor with 2 megapixels.
MagicOS 7.0 serves as the ex-factory interface, but it’s still based on Android 12. The 4,800 battery can be recharged with 66 watts. Green, blue, pink and black color variants are hitting the market. With 8 / 256 GB, the smartphone costs the equivalent of around 472 euros. For the version with 12/512 GB you should pay around 553 euros in China.
The Honor 80, on the other hand, relies on a 6.67-inch OLED screen, a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and again a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The selfie camera is content with a sensor of 32 MP. The SoC is the brand new Snapdragon 782G, which I recently wrote about. In the case of the cameras, the wide-angle lens is identical to the Pro model and the depth sensor also remains, but the ultra-wide-angle camera is reduced to 8 megapixels.
The Honor 80 also uses MagicOS 7 based on Android 12 and the same battery capacity and fast charging as its big brother. Again, there are color variants in blue, green, pink, and black. In this case, the price of the version with 8/256 GB is the equivalent of 363 euros. If you invest in 12/512 GB, you will be asked to pay around 444 euros.
The Honor 80 SE stacks a little lower and uses a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ as the resolution and again a 120Hz refresh rate. A 10-bit panel is again used as the base, to which a 1920 Hz PWM dimming is assigned. The 32-megapixel selfie camera sits in a punch-hole. 64 (wide angle) + 5 (ultra wide angle) + 2 (macro) megapixels are specified for the main camera. In this case, the MediaTek Dimensity 900 serves as the SoC and the 4600 mAh battery can be charged with 66 watts.
The Honor 80 SE is available in Black, Crystal, Blue and Pink colors. Again, there are variants with 8/12 GB of RAM, but each with 256 GB of storage space. In this case, the price starts at the equivalent of 323 euros.
There is currently no information on an international launch of the Honor 80, Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80 SE.
