Honor MagicOS 7.0 (Android 13) launched in China

Honor begins distributing MagicOS 7.0 in China. The new interface for mobile devices is based on Android 13 and brings corresponding improvements. However, Honor has also added its own flair. The newly introduced MagicRing with MagicOS 7.0 allows services to be shared between systems and devices.

According to Honor, the MagicRing not only connects devices, but also cross-device services. The solution makes it possible to use the same keyboard and the same mouse for several devices, to receive calls and notifications on a device other than the smartphone and to always use the same application on all devices. For example, Honor’s note feature supports offline information access, PDF annotation, audio and text synchronization.

MagicOS 7.0 also has Magic Text, a feature that recognizes text on an image and converts it into a file – OCR apparently built right into the system, similar to macOS, for example. When users start an application, Honor OS Turbo X is supposed to improve the speed. GPU Turbo X, on the other hand, is supposed to help with gaming. Link Turbo X is designed to optimize network connections. The MagicGuard, in conjunction with Qualcomm’s dual TEE security system, can provide hardware-level encryption to protect user data.

Honor has already released a timeline indicating when the company’s devices will receive an update to MagicOS 7.0. It should be noted, however, that this information naturally relates to China. Internationally, we will probably have to hold on a little longer.
