Launch of the new Aqara Cube T1 Pro in Germany

Aqara made it official and presented the new Cube T1 Pro. As hardware itself, the set is not a new invention, it is a cube (?4.5 x 4.5 x 4.5 cm; 170 grams) that can run scenes or device controls in the smart home. So you can assign scenes which you can set alongside the dice, shaking is also supported. Personally, I’ve always found it less intuitive (I also don’t want to remember x things, how I should use the cube), but it should find its followers.

The new Cube (costs around 23 euros) builds on its predecessor and offers HomeKit and Alexa support, so it can be used to control a wide range of smart home devices in both ecosystems (an Aqara hub based on Zigbee 3.0 is required. The Cube T1 Pro is recognized by HomeKit as 6 buttons in HomeKit and as 6 motion sensors in Alexa). Additionally, it adds the new Scene Mode, which allows users to use not only actions, but also different sides of the cube to activate scenes or smart devices.
