Microsoft Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5 to be announced soon

It’s been a while, when some readers have probably already forgotten: Slack complained to the European Commission about Microsoft in 2020. The stumbling block: Microsoft illegally integrated its Teams product into its mainstream Office productivity suite. The Redmond company forced the installation of millions of Teams instances and violated competition law.

Slack also accuses Microsoft of concealing the true costs for enterprise customers. This is all a strategy to fend off competitors. As Reuters reports, it now appears that antitrust authorities want to investigate the whole story further. Slack requirement: Microsoft should uncouple Teams from the Office suite again and sell licenses at fair prices.

The European Commission and Microsoft are currently refraining from commenting on this case. However, a formal announcement of the investigation may soon follow, Reuters sources say.
