Oppo has unveiled three new Reno9 smartphones in China. Specifically, these are the Reno9, Reno9 Pro and Reno9 Pro+. Of course, this latest model is the flagship of the series and relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. But let’s start with the standard model, which uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chip as its SoC.
It is a mobile device with an AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, FHD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sampling rate. The screen works in 10 bits and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. Oppo lists 950 nits as the maximum brightness for HDR content. As for the camera, Oppo uses a 64-megapixel wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front is a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
The Reno9 uses a 4,500 mAh battery and can be recharged quickly at 67 W. Android 13 with ColorOS 13 is already pre-installed from the factory. According to Oppo, the device weighs 174g and is around 7.2mm thick.
On the market, the Oppo Reno9 costs around 335 euros in China with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space. With 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of capacity it is 363 euros. Anyone investing in 12/512 GB should pay 403 euros. The Oppo Ren09 is available in black, gold, red and pink. Delivery will begin on December 2, 2022.
The Oppo Reno9 Pro ups the ante with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor but uses the same AMOLED display and battery as the regular Reno9. However, Oppo also integrates the MariSilicon X NPU and upgrades the camera. Although the same selfie equipment is used here, on the back you will find a wide angle lens with 50 and an ultra wide angle sensor with 8 megapixels.
There’s also up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The standard Oppo Reno9, on the other hand, only uses LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 with the maximum configuration. The Oppo Reno9 Pro is available in black, gold and pink colors and costs 470 euros with 12/256 GB. If you double the storage space, you end up with 510 euros.
The Oppo Reno9 Pro+, on the other hand, offers a similar AMOLED display with an additional 6.7 inches, but uses curved edges. The selfie camera is again at 32 MP. On the back is a camera with 50 megapixels (wide angle, OIS) + 8 (ultra wide angle + 2 (depth sensor). Here the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+Gen 1 serves as the SoC and the MariSilicon X is on the side like the NPU. The battery is a little more sumptuous here with 4,700 mAh and can be charged with 80 watts.
The Oppo Reno9 Pro+ is available in black, gold and peppermint green colors. For 17 / 256 GB it costs 537 euros. If you want 512 GB of storage space, you will have to pay the equivalent of 590 euros. There is currently no information on a launch in Europe.
