Podcast “2035 – The future starts now”

ARD and Deutschlandradio have started a joint project with the radio podcast “2035 – The future starts now”, which will debut on December 2, 2022. The production of radio plays gets to the bottom of the question of how we will live, work and think in 2023. The question of whether our planet will still be habitable in 2035 also plays a role. And what feelings, desires or fears the younger generation roams. It deals with various visions of the near future, told from the point of view of young graduates this year.

From December 2, “2035 – The Future Begins Now” will be available via ARD Audiothek. Individual radio plays can also be heard in the radio programs of ARD and Deutschlandfunk. There are also reports, discussions and essays accompanying the radio podcast on the transmission dates listed below.

The radio play podcast sends the listener with all the means and tricks of audio fiction into the year 2035. Each state broadcaster ARD and Deutschlandradio designs part of this future panorama. The result is self-contained, loosely connected stories about the class of 2022. An imaginary class that missed an important phase of life in times of the corona pandemic. Years later, the protagonists face major challenges: natural disasters, social divisions, technological speed and artificial intelligence.
