Deadline To Apply For $700 Direct Payment For South Carolina Residents

Direct tax rebate payments are going to be made available to residents of the state of South Carolina.

The amount will change depending on how many tax returns the state gets. As part of the budget, the measure was passed by the government in June.

South Carolina residents must file a state income tax return for 2021 by Monday, October 17, in order to qualify.

To get the rebate payment, you must have a tax liability, or a positive balance, after taking out any tax credits.

Residents, part-year residents, and people who don't live in the state can apply as long as they meet the requirements.

You might not get a rebate if the amount you still owe on your tax return is more than what you owe in taxes.

On the other hand, if you got a tax refund for this year's filing, it won't have any bearing on whether or not you qualify.

By December 31, 2022, rebates will be sent out. You will get paid the same way you did last year when you got your tax refund.

If your direct deposit bank account has changed, fill out the SC5000. You'll get a paper check if you got a debit card, check, or tax preparer's account last year.
