Georgia Receives Medicaid Cash Assistance 

Governor Brian P. Kemp has offered more than $1 billion to support active Medicaid, PeachCare for Kids®, SNAP, and/or TANF consumers. Multi-program participants are paid once.

People in Georgia who were signed up for and getting Medicaid, PeachCare for Kids®, SNAP, and/or TANF benefits on July 31, 2022, are eligible.

Who Is Eligible To Receive The Cash Assistance Payment?

Application is not required. Georgians can view family status in Gateway "Check My Benefits – Case Selection" from September 19, 2022.

Do You Have To Apply To Receive The Cash Assistance Payment?

DHS will contact eligible Georgians via Georgia Gateway. All eligible Georgians should log into Georgia Gateway to update personal information & contact preferences

How Will DHS Communicate With Me? 

Eligible Georgians will get cash aid in mid-September. For fast payment delivery, choose "email" in Georgia Gateway.

When Will I Receive The Cash Assistance Payment?

No, these cash assistance payments will be made to eligible Georgians outside of current benefit payment cards.

How Will I Receive The Cash Payment? Will It Go On My SNAP/TANF Benefit Card

Virtual payment card is prepaid Mastercard that stays in digital wallet. Can  Pay anywhere that accepts Mastercard, not just online.

How Does The Virtual Payment Card Work?

Those who enrol after the deadline of July 31, 2022, will not be eligible for financial aid.

What If I Enrolled After The Cutoff Date? 

DHS will email you when cash assistance is disbursed. Check your email and ensure messages don't get to spam/junk.
