Following the appearance of numerous videos online purporting to be in-development footage for Grand Theft Auto 6, the game may have been leaked.
A user titled 'teapotuberhacker' on GTAForums who also claims they were behind a recent Uber hack has shared 90 videos from a test build of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Screenshots and excerpts from these videos have been circulating on YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and elsewhere, and they correspond to information from the recent GTA 6 leak.
According to the videos and images, it will include numerous playable characters, one of them is a woman, and will be set in and around the Miami-esque Vice City.
Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier says he's confirmed with Rockstar sources that the leak is real.
Obviously, the footage is unpolished and unfinished. This is one of the most significant leaks in the history of video games and a nightmare for Rockstar Games."
In one video, a player-character named Lucia and an accomplice named Jason rob a waffle business, taking hostages like they're in Pulp Fiction.
The footage of a poolside conversation between a male player-character and a couple of redneck pals is more convincing.
According to the previous GTA 6 leak, the game has been in production since 2014 under the codename 'Project Americas.'
These files, which contain the term "Americas" in their names and show a version operating on a PlayStation 4 dev kit, could be several years old.
