Tyler Reddick Wins In Texas Motor Speedway Nascar Race

Tyler Reddick won NASCAR's round of 12 in Texas on Sunday, a week after being eliminated from title contention.

After none of the contenders won the first three playoff races, Reddick led 53 of the final 54 laps on a long, nighttime racing day.

Reddick survived 17 cautions, 36 lead changes, a 56-minute red flag for lightning, and tyre problems that caused Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell to crash.

Joey Logano came in second, 1.19 seconds back. Logano took the lead in points by 12 over Ross Chastain.

Elliott, the points leader entering the round of 12, had a furious finish after contact with the outside wall in Turn 4.

Elliott went into the frontstretch with flames under the right side of the No. 9 Chevrolet, then pulled across and stopped in the infield.

 He climbed out of the car unharmed as it was being covered in flames. His final place in the race was 32nd.

Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr., who weren't in the playoffs, also had tyre problems while leading the race at the 1 1/2-mile track.

Oklahoma native Bell, who calls Texas home, crashed after 136 laps due to a second tyre issue. Only he finished in the top five in all three postseason events.
